The Cane Corso is a majestic creature with a strong, sturdy skeleton and muscular build. Despite their brawn and strength, they are very athletic and agile, while elegant in their stride. Dogs are considered medium-large and are around 25" tall and can weigh anywhere from 90 to 120 lbs. Their coat is short and dense, and may be black or shades of grey, and may have white markings on the chest, feet or nose. The Cane Corso has an average life span of 9.3 years.
The Cane Corso is an intelligent breed and is relatively easy to train. They are affectionate with family and don't like to be left alone for long periods of time. When trained properly, the dogs are even-tempered, reserved, quiet and stable as adults. Socialization is essential to achieve the right temperament. Pups need to be managed and controlled early on as they are lively, active and rambunctious. Once you've bonded with your Cane Corso dog, that bond can never be broken.
